Well, I wasn’t at the Odd Future show, which is already the big legend of this year’s Crawl – but I hope you all had as great a weekend as I did. I didn’t do very well at keeping up with Twitter during the Crawl, but what I did see was amazingly positive – everyone seems to have had a blast. I set this blog up to follow the hype, and in the event the festival was a total pay-off to the pre-event buzz. That Odd Future stage invasion was just the icing on the cake of a crazy, eclectic, full-on weekend. Well done to all involved, and especially to the bands themselves.

There won’t be much more hype to record, I suppose, except to make a record of the reviews:

Crawling In The Papers

The Crawl has made it into the Daily Star: lying on my colleague’s desk last week (no, really, I didn’t spend money on it) was that august paper, open at Kim Dawson’s decent Playlist page: “Miles Kane, 25, and Yasmin, 22, are set to rock the boozefest that is London’s Camden Crawl. British Sea Power and Villagers also celebrate the events 10th anniversary across north London venues between April 30 and May 1st.” I’m not sure why the ages of Miles Kane and Yasmin are worth writing down in a festival preview, but it was nevertheless heartening to see the Crawl get coverage in the mainstream press like that.

Marginally less mainstream is Kerrang!, the latest edition of which has a bit on the Crawl, too: in the ‘Just Announced’ section of today’s edition, the mag lists the ones to watch as: Attack! Attack!, Bo Ningen, Cerebral Ballzy, Dinosaur Pile Up, Fever Fever, Hawkeyes, Holy State, Japanese Voyeurs, The King Blues, Kong, P. Money, The Qemists, Rise To Remain, S.C.U.M, Tek-One, Turbogeist, Turbo Wolf, and Young Legionnaire. Rawktastic!

Looking out for more Crawl in the press … let me know if you see anything?

I’m going to try and keep track of relevant media coverage for this year’s Crawl events, though in a month or so I’ll probably give up as inundated. Let’s see how I do. This month’s edition of the Fly has this on Wild Palms’ performance at December’s CC Tips gig – do the clicky to get a bigger version…
